Its not a matter of what i think, its objectively true. He is lying, why he is lying who knows but he is still lying. He also did make his bf feel anxious, he was very clearly distressed about the broken phone and the phone call, but Taehee still lied in despite of that. Him being uncomfortable does not take away or excuse actively lying to another person.
