Kinda unrelated (?) but I also noticed this in showbiz/idol manhwas (or stories with a celebrity mc in general): when there's a big scandal it's usually a drug scandal (instead of for example sa which would be much worse) and, I agree, drugs are bad, but... they always make it seem like a bigger deal than it actually is imo (it's not like they're evil drug lords)? I mean, even irl, if an idol was addicted to drugs for example, my first thought would be: damn, poor guy, he must have a rough life if he resorted to drugs despite knowing the consequences, but in Korea it seems like the worst crime a celebrity can commit and their career is immediately over? Idk if it was just my impression, I've never even been to Korea afterall

the drug party in chapters 16-18 made me realize that eastern asian countries have a culture of absolutely despising drugs (drug cases there are considered more serious than most of their sa cases) that we’ve never seen a yaoi couple actually fuck while on drugs and have a non-negative attitude about it.
Not talking about this manhwa but it just makes me shocked that so many bls have sa/rape in it that they almost never take seriously but drugs in bl are always seen as the most evil thing on earth. One of the first cultural differences I’ve noticed in bl mangas/manhwas/manhuas
