People being like "gjord is acting different" no he's been insane, he was never a green flag, he's often the only hope the mc has (by leveraging the networks our mc BUILT) and often his savior and treats him well most of the time, but he's flawed and makes bad choices and is selfish. The protagonist is also flawed, on top of being deeply mentally ill. They are both people who want to have power and use it, this makes them often complicit. Its a complex political novel, not a love story! Gjord needs to be kept in line like anyone else, our mc doesn't have the ability to leverage control over anyone rn, not even his own mind, and not gjord. This is more of a plot point than a writing flaw.
