There seems to be a lot more to the father and MC’s time during the apocalypse than we’ve been shown so far.
Remember when MC said he’s never killed any of the undead/maggots? (He almost called them undead but stopped halfway.) After living in that world for years, that feels pretty hard to believe, even if they’re not super aggressive like typical zombies. Then there’s that eerie dream with all the dead people surrounding him, Guwon saying he’s just like him, the way MC acts when he’s in deep sleep, and how quickly he can push through fear and stay calm in stressful/perilous situations.
I think the author is deliberately holding something back, and it’s building toward something really interesting.
