I think he's basically self sabotaging and self isolating due to his family trauma by lying to hyeonseon that he has a group project and went home instead of coming over for dinner. I don't think he will actually cheat based on what the author is writing, but Im guessing he becomes more distant from hyeonseon and cracks opens the window for other ppl to flirt with him which our poor divorcee learning to love again will see. Bleh. Sad. Hard to love others when you don't love yourself I guess.
