I really liked this manhwa and was devastated when people said the story will turn bad, so I read the raw til the end to see how bad could it be. While I still don't like that the author ended up including the noncon, when I finished I actually think it's one of the better manhwas I've read so far tbh one of my all time favorites even (but I'm exclusively into unconventional ukes so not like I have many on the list lol).
Even if they're not the healthiest couple and can be downright toxic, the MC and ML really feel equal. The dynamics just feels more realistic I think. Uncomfortable, sure, but definitely not the worst one i read. I've seen worst manhwas so seeing the hates Alpha Equation got when the official translations even finish yet is kinda makes me sad

We also freaking love that story! it's genuinely great, the dynamics is perfect and not hetero coded as it is in most omegaverse (personally fucking hate when they turn into an omega, like what was the point of creating an equal dynamic if it's to fuck it up and make it into "the powerful tops the less powerful" but anyhoo)
It's because it had such great potential that to see the resolution turn into a "jealousy motivated rape" is such a tragic outcome
(And just because rape is some people's kink or just cause it's worst in some other mangas doesn't mean people can't say they wish the story went down a different road!)
Though i truly get where you're coming from, but here, i think people are mad because it could have been a master piece, but instead it chose the "miscommunication road" aka the lazy road when you're a writer; that creates easy drama that gets resolved as easily as it came but it's neither good or rewarding or actually builds anything between the characters.
The author clearly can write smarter, so it's a bit surprising in a negative way!

i'm with you on this one. the comments had me dreading going into this, but i've actually been enjoying it a lot more than i expected.
i think the uke is written just well enough to balance out the dynamic. pushy semes usually make for a hard read because the power imbalance ends up being too one-sided, but here the uke pushes back just as much and crosses boundaries too.
it's definitely not a healthy relationship, but because of the nature of their friendship, the imbalance never feels completely skewed to one side. they both push boundaries, they both push back, and that makes the dynamic easier for me to buy into.
it has the same rough around the edges feel i loved in An Unsettling Scent (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡ they're allowed to act like toxic alphas even when they're in a relationship with another toxic alpha. the writing in Alpha Equation does feel shallower in comparison, but i get the impression the author was going for a more lighthearted read anyway so i don't mind it too much.
personally i really hope he doesn't turn into an omega and this just becomes another alpha x omega story. the alpha x alpha purist in me needs this to stay alpha x alpha. alpha x alpha enjoyers deserve a story that's actually alpha x alpha.

Am I the only one who's actually loving this? Looking at the comments almost everyone seems to be against it.
Honestly it feels so refreshing to read a uke who's not vulnerable, insecure or constantly self-loathing. Plus it's alpha vs alpha. Just because the uke has a sweet scent doesn't automatically mean he'll become an omega. And even if he does turn into an omega so what? We literally don't know yet so maybe let the story unfold before jumping to conclusions.
And about the rape discourse there are way worse yaoi stories that people happily simp over. Here both characters are on the same level. Even when they cross boundaries it's mutual instead of one person being the only victim.
Can we stop judging everything before the story is even finished and just let it unfold first?
