An honest review as a victim who sympathizes with Jooha

Here's a longer more honest review. I like the story. I think it's very well written in a lot of parts, but bad in some. The memory loss thing was sort of goofy and I did not like it until I read how the author handled it, and showed the progress and how Dooshik dealt with it. I ended up liking it alot in the end.

As a victim of sa that supports fiction that explores these topics, I think the handling was mid to average. If the author has a 'kink' to it, so be it, many victims like me also do as a way to gain back control, and I do not know the author's personal life, it's none of my business. However that being said, if you want to tell a meaningful story in a genuine way, letting your kinks take the wheel- unless you just want p*rn and do not care about the plot (which the author seems to care about the plot I'd say)- I just think it's a bad idea. The sa was not the problem in the story, it was how graphic and often it was. Now as I said, that's fine if that's what you are going for, but the very focus on the plot and romance creates a very confusing signal especially to readers who are not interested in such dark graphic content, it creates a strange mix of readers. I think the author should've toned it down on the graphic sa, and maybe cut some of it out, or use 'implications' instead.

I wish we had gotten more fluff and happy moments from the couple, and I can't believe I'm saying that as someone who loves dark romance and dark dramas. It's just a little miserable and un-rewarding to watch characters we love suffer, only to get a tiny bit of their joy at the very end. But maybe that's just me being human. We like good and comfort better than things that make us sad.

Anyway, this is my number one favorite story now. The abuser deserved far worse, his death was not very satisfying. It would've been more impactful if Jooha had ended him himself without the cliff scene.
