it’s kinda like a short flashback. Basically, while they were in the helicopter, yikyung was told he’s a S+ guide. Once they got back on the ground, yikyung immediately ran towards joobin with the intention of guiding him.
I think the author was trying to frame it as “Omg the helicopter is about to crash!” -> [tiny time skip for anticipation] Now yikyung is running to joobin, but he has no powers so why would he would run into an active battleground ESPECIALLY one with a rampant esper involved?? He’s crazy! Even Joobin says he’ll die if he comes any closer! -> [flashback to the guide rank convo that was originally skipped in the timeskip] this explains to US why yikyung is confident enough to suddenly run into the chaotic battleground -> [back to present] yikyung reassures joobin he won’t die so easily
if that makes more sense……. It was suppose to make his guide rank reveal feel more dramatic, but I was confused too LOLLLL
