Another thing, in the original Asmo was stuck at rank 4 and didn't grow for a while until Ifrit drilled into him for holding back, eventually beating the shit out of Asmo.
In this version Ifrit was the one holding him back, letting the organization use him as a disposable pawn until Asmo broke free and bested him by himself.
I wonder if the creator thinks about every single atom of parallels himself or things just fall into place naturally.
The author can have my soul. One thing I like more than the switched positions is that Asmo punched first, unlike the original where he couldn't do anything when Atori tried to kidnap him. Everyone is growing 3x the speed of the original, I dig it.
