Im just guessing here but I think between the espers, and the gov, there was some sort of delicate balance that centered on joobin being on the government's leash and monopolizing the fact that hes an s class esper who doesn't have a guide i think they're taking advantage of his weak mental state and the fact that hes always on the verge of going berserk (cuz he doesn't have a guide) to basically work him like a dog. With yikyung appearing as joobins saving grace, metaphorically, yikyung being able to guide joobin is akin to him basically removing the chains the gov has on him. And they do not like that. So they either have to lock down yikyung to keep control of their weapon, or they risk an s class threat that is no longer on their leash. Maybe that's why they kept trying to make sure yikyung never looked too closely. Idk this is all just my understanding of it feel free to correct me if im wrong

Also the fact that, because Yikyung is able to guide Joobin they are facing new monsters in battle, plus Joobin's prior fear of Yikyung being experimented on since he's like the first S+ guide
Can anyone tell me whats the convo between the research director and yikyung about? They talked about the monsters, and about yikyung ruining the balance?
