A similar manga is a dance in the vampire bund, while it’s not similar plot wise it’s hard to get into and understand unless you re-read it a couple times. Also a really long franchise, but it’ll always be one of my favorite series. The anime was easier to understand but totally different from the manga. I would reccomend it though because I found it to be deeply profound and complex.
Recently finished reading Land of the Lustrous. Easy to get into, but extremely hard to finish (in more ways than one). I had to place it into my list of manga that are hard to recommend. You know, the ones in which you COULD recommend to someone, but you’d have to know that they have the right mindset and be able to identify that what they are looking at is fiction, and then be able to handle the said fiction sanely. So would I recommend it? No, not really, only if I know the person in questions mind.
I also somewhat place Forgotten Neverland in this as well as a few others. Anyone have similar experiences/mangas?
