i feel like the issue with this manwha is they keep delving into these deep emotional topics nd issues like physical and mental abuse, incestuous relationships, eating disorders, yet they never really clarify it or give it room to sink in bcs they constantly cover it up with humor nd try to make things light hearted which it js doesn't work when it comes to things like that
like when ruby undergoes thru her trauma infront of iz, instead of facing it head on and making it a serious topic to be discussed, the author js covers it up w some romantic display of affection
and when ruby throws up everything she digests (which happens all throughout this story) it's always made to look like she js happens to throw up everything she eats which is normal for her nd it doesn't express the mental suffering she's actually going through
like especially the moment ruby goes thru that horrific event w her brother who shall not be named and she has to sit right next to him, it's made to feel like that traumatic act was js another normal occurrence that isn't something she should lose her composure about which in turn js lightens the pain she's actually enduring
