I'm pass the age where big gestures or like "I like someone so much " crushing hard is romantic for me now. Had young relationships like that and they were not great people even though they did the outwardly romantic big stuff. Seems for be a compensation of some sorts now that I think back. I see people saying it is not romantic. But ml seems to me to be devoted, works, helps and predicts the mc's needs, and backs off enough to respect mc's own peace of mind. That seems pretty romantic for me. Even though mc hasn't completely fallen for ml yet.
