I'm pass the age where big gestures or like "I like someone so much " crushing hard is romantic for me now. Had young relationships like that and they were not great people even though they did the big outwardly romantic stuff. Looking back, they were definitely compensating sth. I see people saying it is not romantic. But ml is devoted, works, helps and predicts the mc's needs, and backs off enough to respect mc's own peace of mind. That seems pretty romantic for me. Even though mc hasn't completely fallen for ml yet.
