Well this was still the late 90s/early 2000s there was still a lot of racism towards POC
But the racism in this sense would have worked for him, the “Asians are super smart, and can do everything academically” stereotype started around that time so they would have wanted to snap him up even more
It’s so weird when people don’t treat him like a child sometimes, also it’s hilarious that they made it seem so hard and prejudiced to get into a foreign prep school, when in reality they would welcome any kid that could boost and maintain the marks of their school, especially a child actor who had a millionaire backer
