Maybe. But also could be because the publishers also push out rape and force creators to include it in their own stories. That's what happened with scammed and rammed apparently. It's unfortunately true that series with rape are paid more (PotN, ks, jinx, LTIT). Or maybe, to prevent more backlash, the creators are told to just put blame on the publisher.

Anyways, it's so bad and completely unnecessary cause there are ways to create dark stories without sexualization of rape.

I think it's just stupid to include gang rape after receiving backlash for rape between mc and ml. But it's apparently ok as long as it's not between the main characters (I can almost hear some readers thinking this). I think the creator has been very clear about using rape as a traumatic experience for ml, so at this point, it all comes down to how she handles the aftermath of trauma. But portraying more rape is not even necessary when it's been established he's already being raped, abused and traumatized like that. (I'm just yapping at this point. Ignore me.)
