what a tragic villain. rose's grief is tied so closely to its grudge that it can't honor its first love properly. continuing the cursed fate on generations of innocent ppl is a twisted and terrible way to honor edgar's life and wish

    u said it so well its so crazy to me that he might never truly understand his feelings of love for edgar bc all the hatred and anger (if i didnt misinterpret) he felt towards him for not wishing that theyd stay together/ that he'd stay alive

    oh definitely. its anger is towards everyone, and as much as it hates neil, i think it hates edgar even more for wishing something better for neil of all ppl. since it never understood humans and how human connections work, im sure its difficult for rose to understand why edgar would do such a thing. since rose is built off of evil, it makes sense that it would solely focus on fulfilling the selfish purpose of "avenging" edgar by cursing his family line forever
