I think the author wanted to make Wooju an Omega from the start, seeing as they just revealed that some people, in rare cases, can present later in life. Also him being the carbon copy of his omega dad would add to it. Knowing from other omegaverses that some betas can become omegas if they're continuously exposed to (dominant) alpha pheremones, which is most likely a condition for the pill to work and professor Cha most likely knows that, while Jiheon does not. Hoping Jiheon came to his sense now tho! Please don't let my baby Wooju suffer more :(
