He felt remorseful enough in all his lives for the things he did to his little brother that ended up killing him. I think that much remorse and actions he did in the end was enough. He deserved someone too, surely.
I'm so sad for the big stepbrother, He wasn't a bad guy, he just needed love, needed someone because he felt lonely and never loved by anyone, he didn't know how to demonstrate affection because he never received any, I wish he was forgiven at least in this life, but he was still treated the same way even in this life :-(
