Revenge rape absolutely has no merit, there's no justification for rape. However raping someone as a teenager/kid is equally inexcusable and shouldn't be downplayed. IF our MC raped ML as a teenager, he is equally disgusting. The only reprieve is he clearly doesn't remember it thus has some plausible distance from who he was.
