No, Kloff never found the truth, he genuinely believes that the child was his until his death.
Yeah, it was literally for no reason. In the novel, it's made clear that Kloff didn't actually love Rapiel (he simply thought Rapiel was nice to settle down with) but that he deeply loved "their child" which is why he went insane with grieve after "his child" died. It was all just one massive misunderstanding.
Omg I read a comment saying that in Raphiel's book, the child isn't even Kloff's
