What the importance of the pendant again??? Its been so long i forgot

The wooden pendant was given to abel by his master as the token of being the regas-candidate in the beginning (the one karas wrote/carved 'apel' onto). Later, we've come to find out it is the pair of the relic entrusted to marquis yan. the relic which has the ability to access the past of the og dragon if the soul of the actual regas can use the right password to activate it. And atp the pendant in marquis yan's custody was burned, so abel's pendant is the only remaining artifact capable of accessing the past memories of the dragon now.

And why does the pendant shouldn't be with karas? I remember they were panicking since marquid yan told them that the pendant should not be given to the king, but lo and behold, karas already hadnit for the pastnseveral years

i can't remember the exact reason why but it was something to do with the fact that they couldn't just get the pendant from karas (since he's pretty unpredictable) and it'd be tough to keep tabs on it as they pleased
