You should finish reading origin on species it’s peak, and from what I know this series is a spinoff of that
You should definitely read it! Timeline-wise, Origin of species happened first and Evolution of species is a sequel. The main characters from this sequel were supporting characters from the main story that actually had little to no interaction between them.
