I think when you love someone a lot there is no way you can't project your memories a little, but i think there are going to be clear differences that set garam apart for our John Doe. That relationship seemed to be doomed or at least a painful memory where as garam will pull thru

I really hope prof just has trauma regarding that person from his past and isnt seeing Garam as a substitute but his own person. I really don't like that substitute love trope :/
