Idk if u want spoilers but it's not exactly happy ending buut not super sad since they both survived, it's just a realistic and bleak ending.
I hate that they didn't get to escape together, I wished they left it as an opened ending so the readers can come up with their own conclusions buut at the same time I like how realistic it ended.
