While the concept was very promising with a strong female mc who seems witty and couragous, the plot doesn't carry that same effect that drew me in.
The elemental spirit thingy felt cliche, the supposed black male lead feels too much of a supporting character and the whole dog master relationship is just cringy. I thought her power or innate nature would play a central role in the story but only came up momentarily each time and as an afterthought. I wanted and expected the dog-master relarionship with her would change into something else because honestly it doesnt fit well for me. He could just be acting like a normal vassal rather than a subservient pet with no other personality than being for the sake of the mc.
I even forgot about who jeremy is after I saw someone mention it here, and even then, his character was equally uninteresting. Really, i was hoping too much with my initial expectation and the story went in a different direction than I anticipated so I didnt think I will not like this read.
