I’m finally coming back to comment because, after thinking it over, I finally have put my finger on why I don’t like this: the writing. The misunderstanding that made me drop this: When MC didn’t recognize ML and then ML’s handkerchief was the solution. This was just poorly written, I’ll say it. You are telling me that the solution to this colossal misunderstanding is the handkerchief that the ML had on him the entire time? Seriously? And you might counter this by saying “but if there’s no misunderstandings there won’t be a story!” And to that I say, I don’t hate the misunderstanding itself, what I hate is how they went about solving it. If you’re going to have a problem like that, why solve it in such a cheap way? If the handkerchief was the solution, it could have fallen out of his damn pocket and have concluded the same way- it just feels not good to read. It’s really the frustrating writing that’s just a total let down for me.
