I get people's feelings but

To me, this story reflects the complexities of real life, full of highs and lows. While Erna is perhaps too innocent to see the truth right in front of her at the beginning, she knew exactly who Bjorn was before she married him. He was never a perfect prince—barely even a decent man—but he is at the end finally making a genuine effort to change.

I think many readers get hung up on the idea of perfection, expecting a total transformation for redemption, but that’s not how relationships work. Real life is about two people trying every day to make things work despite the mistakes and the inevitable frustrations. It’s messy, but at least now, Erna has found the strength to stand up for herself, slam the door, and set her boundaries.
