This is the troupe of her liking him before the story starts. Like a small crush because someone stood out to you and the story begins with her getting the courage/opportunity to actually talk to and get to know him, which leads to the feelings growing
I’m sorry, but I don’t like the FRIEND because why are you trying to pursue someone that your best friend is already interested in and you know the guy that she’s interested in likes her too but you’re trying to put yourself in that situation with the guy that’s weird
Also, maybe I’m missing something but she liked him out of nowhere like literally out of nowhere. Maybe I don’t know romance that much but I just feel like usually there’s a turning point in which someone just be like oh yeah I like you but off rip girl like he didn’t do anything
