I'm at chapter 29 and I have a LOT to say. Valle boy... I think he likes her but emotionally cannot determine his own feelings because he keep intellectualizing everything. Because of that, he cannot see the problems in their relationship making things escalating to how they are now especially why the FL could not enjoy her life with him. He doesn't realize her mental state because, yea, he himself is the problem for intellectualizing things. It's a problem from the start because of the Canary Project they had and him also liking her. Secondly, the FL genuinely liked him because he did show care, but it was twisted in a way because he doesn't make her feel safe, especially after not realizing her fears and needs. Her staying by his side is like a way of security he had, but the hatred or uncomfortable feelings she never expressed made him feel iffy about it, that's why he was happy when she gets mad at him.
