if i was in his shoes, i wouldnt resort to lying even if im trying to be avoidant. i would just be vague, like "oh yeah smt happened and i hurt myself. dw tho" "oh yeah that crazy guy? idk what he wants. just ignore him" instead of making up obviously bullshit lies, even as far as basically covering up for his trashy ex, when he knows what hurt him and drifted them apart the first time was him lying/omitting information. its not helping his case at all. how does he expect someone to trust him again when all he does after saying that he'll open up more is follow up with more lies?
