From my understanding, Rian got the message that his original mission of going ater Lorenzo was still a go so he pretended to let him himself be captured. Slowly but surely he was testing boundaries and setting up a trap. Aka how he has his bike and used the tablet to get him a message, before he got captured in the hotel he had evievidence he needed so he was just buying time. Lorenzo was fooled into thinking he had won and unforunfortunately for Rian he is going to be even more obsessed bebecause he was tricked.
