I think it's the other way around. MC is the one misunderstanding her own situation (rofan), but the others' perception of her is more accurate (cosmic horror).
I agree with you.
Because it is true that for her, these people are not human.
She might feels a bit caring for some people especially children, but not to the point of thinking they are real.
Just like us reading comics and saw childrens in it and adore them.
Its the same formula again and again. They misunderstand smthg, they get scared, shes clueless and the misunderstanding continues.
I wonder if we will get smthg new cus its getting kinda boring.
