TW RANT: Just binged this from season 3, to 2, then 1 lmao bc I read the spoilers and wanted to skip the bs but it was so addicting I just had to find out more and I read in reverse. And man, season 1 uke is hella pathetic and frustrating and seme is sweet (to uke only lmao), season 2 uke I sympathized with but wished desperately for him to stop being a loser and despise that unreasonable seme, and season 3 they were tolerable.
My god, uke in season 1 is so unreasonable and stubborn despite his shit situation, like just put your dignity aside, accept the help, and pay back him back when you get your money up. Instead he’s overworking himself, hiding secrets, blowing up on his considerate friend (crazy how I’m calling him considerate here when his thought process on maintaining friendship becomes legit deranged later) for a reason that makes no sense. The more he kept his problems to himself despite his obvious physical and mental deterioration to not appear pathetic in front of his crush, who knows everything already, was embarrassing. Being honest and owning it would’ve made him more likeable. Idk why some ppl would rather hold onto their dignity with one foot in the grave, than just admit they need help.
Edit: finished all of season one now and I have to say uke is a hypocritical, pathetic, loser. He kept the fact he moved out and is living alone and struggling a secret, but had the nerve to blow up on his crush for keeping his family’s newfound wealth and future move a secret. Like I was flabbergasted with his bs. And he had the nerve to think “I’m not doing this to keep my pride, I just like you” aka you don’t want to look pathetic in front of your crash aka you are maintaining pride. Idk author was plotting out of their ass or something here
