Even if it hadn’t been let known it was pretty obvious, the trend of “pretty tops” with older bottoms has made it predictable to the point of cliche.

I should also add it is especially the case with the “ I picked up a stray and now it’s fucking me” trope which we have here just coupled with the gangster/ hardened adult character that is softened by a love interest they initially see as a brother, child/son, responsibility what have you but fall in anyway despite a very established platonic affection. While I do like this manwha because of the slow burn, the necessary time skip, plus it’s just enough time of only one year of actual interaction makes its feel less found family pseudo incest in comparison to similar plots. I will say it would have actually been interesting if our grumpy mc actually was the top given we know he very much was always straight and what does that mean now that he can find a very masculine presenting ML desirable in such a way that doesn’t align with his innate attraction and make him more active in pursuing something between them rather than the standard passiveness that plagues this type of character that happens to magically be perused by a much younger hot guy in such a typical self insert way that this specific trope speaks to women desiring younger partners themselves.
