Like goldens who can control their pheromones, I feel like the mc isolated his own pheromones because of his deep emotions and he doesn't have any idea... This is just a theory, I think that the ml smelled it because mc felt attracted to him and the ml noticed that's why he was angry and thought that mc is releasing his pheromones on him on purpose.
