Can someone explain whats Espers and guides?

In simple terms

Espers have super powers but when they use them they have side effects(usually If they use their powers a lot it's deadly)
Guides are the ones that can heal these side effects

The details depend on the story but guides usually guide better the more phycal contact they have with the esper and the if they have good compatibility
