To answer your question, based off the novel (I don’t remember much it’s been a year or so that I’ve read it so don’t this with a grain of salt and I also don’t have the link sorry ) she hired doyhun to get close to him and for him to relay info back to her since wooyeon and his mother don’t get along as shown in the manhwa, later as the person said he eventually finds out and they fall out and lots of misunderstandings rise a chasing arc happens and the usual cliche.
Wooyeon eventually finds out he was paid to watch after him and he gets angry
Okay so.
When they both first met, Dohyun was Wooyeons teacher and hecwas hired to report everything he does to wooyeons mom. Dohyun couldnt reject it because wooyeons mom supported him at orphanage. And later Dohyun quit, years later he met with Wooyeon again. And wooyeons mom reach out to dohyun again to check on wooyeon. This time, she kinda threatening him to tell wooyeon how dohyun spyed on him.
The thing is: there is no misunderstanding here.
Wooyeon always hated his mothers controlling him and his life. And not only Dohyun helped her even at first he kinda had to, later he delibratedly hide all these informations, and lied to him.
The reason Dohyun lied is his fear of abandonment, losing Wooyeon. He always loved wooyeon and he was too scared of losing him, thats why he stayed silent to took control of their relationship.
Again, this is something Wooyeon hated the most. Lying or hiding stuff. Controlling, his mother. So rightfully, Wooyeon gets hurt and get mad at him.
The conflict unfortunately doesnt take too long because Wooyeon is terrible at pushing dohyun. They shouldve break up longer than a few days. Anyway, thats it %.
She hired him to keep him from being lonely and to report anything back to her. This ain’t even her first time hiring someone either
Their reconciliation comes quicker than most of the other “I’m not talking to you” tropes, maybe a chapter, according to the book. Wooyeon doesn’t hold a grudge against him for too long cause he loves him so much.
