ong i'm gonna explode, this manhwa got me appreciating humans n the world fr, like smth so beautiful exists?? genuinely can't stop thinking abt it n i totally get how heejae feels when wanting to show garam off to the world cus man do i just wanna SCREAM abt this masterpiece to everyone but no one around me wuld be interested in hearin me yap abt sm bl so i'm instead pouring my heart out here.
also never thought this b4 w any other manhwa or manga but it wuld be soooo beautiful as a movie. i thought of director park chan wook n tho his films tend to be dark psychological thriller, he freq includes taboo dynamics across his films n esp w his romance movies, they tend to cross moral n ethical boundaries tht we normally wuld reprimand/ dislike but a romance is romance nonethless. WHICH is a perfict w the themes of eurydice since its story involves a romance between an abusive prof and student ( irl this wuld be a big nono no shit) BUT w how the author rly developed on the psyches of these charas, i think reason y a lot of the readers r able to love this work is because we see them as people n not merely figures determined by their titles (prof, student, age etc.)
it's exciting and fascinating to read BECAUSE it's fiction, becus we're allowed to explore n see what kind of stories can emerge from such taboo/ prohibited dynamics. just becus a love story doesn follow ur standards of romance doesn inherently make it bad like . n for ppl who disagree, oh how perfect the world wuld be if EVERY written romance was just rainbows n sparkles right, cus like tht's sooo interesting.
anyhow only those w a developed frontal lobe hv no prob w eurydice

SAME!! like this is all I want to talk about right now, but I ain’t got no one to talk about this with ughhhh.

And I agree. I would never typically go for a ProfessorxStudent relationship, but this story delves far beyond the trope. You get to see these characters develop independently over a long period of time before you even get to their “romance.” It makes it feel so rewarding and not like an icky power imbalance.

exactly !!! the storytelling is so arhwjfg perfectly clear, efficient n so smooth. The transition of us as a reader n garam's perception of seeing Heejae as an abusive and unnecessarily aggressive/ mean tyrant, to then seeing wat's beyond that and garam's emotional response to is is so seamless n beautifully written.
n another thing i thought abt is how the youngjo arc is so essential to showing how comfort or kindness alone isn't enough to achieving a deep bond, like w Heejae being somewhat 'kind' to Naeun was in actuality indifference to her. It goes against the standard that the charas HV to be a 'green flag' to make a 'beautiful' love story.
Heejae esp is so flawed but human so it's not just the romance we're invested in but their charas as individuals too like u said.
He's still tht insufferable shithead but Garam just filters out all the bs and nagging. n in moments when Garam's feeling down, Heejae tries to comfort him tho he's like an awkward teenager who can't say sorry lmfao . it's those little thing tht just feel so rewarding n agrhwhr
