Honestly it would have been better if she just ignored it, he prolly wouldn't have brought his ass all the way over there. I say this cuz just as he was getting bored and wanted to piss off she texted and stimulated his curiosity making him want to do more. But the author knew this so maybe this is the authors way of saying she will be special (not special like love but like different) and a cat and mouse game will ensure cuz of her actions
