Nah yall js hate s8 male mc romance (esp the female love interest) in general while praising over the sky bromance hoping it canon (e.g s class that i raised, aint no line in sight we see hate comments abt the "bromance"(gave it a quote cz ts lit bl in disguise) ruining the fantasy action story or endless yapping "i js want PURE FANTASY ACTION STORY" in that story), and liking fantasy action fmc w romance w lots of hot male ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Conclusion
Change the gender of love interest to male BET theres no endless yappinggg~

So no matter how good the female love interest is (e.g raviel/alicia/elena) yall gonna said romance romance ruins it (or worse called her a bitch in the first moment she showed up like whaaaatt (⊙…⊙ ) gagging cz yall genuinely a clown, funny af) as long as its not a "male" yall gonna complainn and complain

But we or js YOU aint ready for that convos yet

Anw its has romance js dont read lmao. I avoided harem like a plague do is still read story that hv harem? No ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Ohhh now it makes sense You’re actually right. People would eat it up if it’s bl but lose their minds if it was a straight romance.

That’s literally how I felt with The S-Classes That I Raised. I saw spoilers that it’s bl and I was so confused I LOVE BL, don’t get me wrong, but I was lowkey hoping it’d just stay focused on the family/sibling bonding with little to no romance. Not every story needs romance fr.

I’m not against romance at all, I actually love it when it’s done right. I just didn’t expect The S-Classes That I Raised to go that route, so I was lowkey disappointed when I found out huhu Then I opened the comments and everyone was celebrating that it was bl while I was just sitting there like… “am I the only one who wanted zero romance?”

Idk. Tbh, I think that in these kinds of stories, female characters aren't always well written and that romantic connections interrupt the flow of everything. That's not the case with bromance. If you wanna ship, it's on you. It's not the story imposing it on you. The relationship has a different taste, much deeper. And actually, it doesn't happen just between men friends but also among man-woman friends: in works like ORV, you see Dokja building relationships with a lot of people, girls as well. The ambiguity and actual lack of focus on romance allows the story to flow smoothly and the reader to enjoy what they read.
So maybe this time around, I personally feel that it doesn't depends so much on the characters' gender. But by the way everything is structured.
Often people just doesn't want to read romance, and finding it in the middle, like a surprise, is upsetting.
Story is different, if from the beginning the story has certain premises, etc.
I would feel the same if the main character was a woman. But in this kind of genre, it's rare to find valid titles with female main characters. And in any case, very often romance is more accepted because all characters (the mls too) are better written and therefore you can empathize more

Bear w me as my english aint good, hope my ABSOOLUUUTEE yapp conveys my intention well! (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I agree that there arent many well-written female love interests out there, since most action-fantasy manhwa are written by men. A lot of male authors just aint that good at writing women from a women perspective. "Some good", and their romance is genuinely great—but people still complain anyway cz its straight romance

Dont get me wrong, Its totally fine if you dont want romance in your story! But its funny how some people immediately start being okay w it and shipping if its two male characters. That honestly sounds like fetishization to me and it is (see comments below me LMFAO)

Anyway, God forbid some author wants to include a straight romance with no ambiguity in their story?? (⊙…⊙)

And okay, maybe you dont care whether the love interest is male or female as long as the romance is well-written. But we cant deny the fact that a lot of people here bash every interaction a female character has with the male MC, while turning around and shipping the slightest ambiguous interaction between two male characters.

Sure s class had a great bromance and i fkn love them

But this happens in so many action manhwa. Every interaction between the MC and a female character gets criticized, even when the female character aint done anything ambigious or what those people called "annoying". Meanwhile, a side male character exchanges a few words with the MC, or even blush and suddenly people ship them like crazy???

As I said in my first comment. no matter how good the female love interest is, people will still bash her.

If she barely appears, people say, "Why is there suddenly romance? She's just a minor side character." I mean most of female love interest in action fantasy manhwa act as an added up spice in mmc life as mostly mmc fantasy action story its js them getting strong settimg their journeys the focus is entirely on mc— so female love interest im their story literally js a supporting character. she could appear in front, middle or end chapter (i dont really agree comparing it to orv since the main purpose of orv female character or every other character purposes is diff compare to another manhwa female character as "love interest" ) so she doesnt have to be with the MC all the time rit? But if she appears more often, then people call her annoying, says she takes up too much screen time, or call her a bitch (look at raviel case, when mc trynna build stronger impression relationship w her, some people here bashhh lmao) anw female character as love interest cant win either way.

Another thing that makes me angry is— Okay yall can ship ofc! i mean i often ship too so aint matter the gender is (i lit read on gay site i read gay stuff too, tho rare rn) ( ̄∇ ̄") male male ship totally okay, no one bashed that male being close w mc, BUT again why its only the female character that getting bashed (even when she act okay lol)

the hate toward female characters in male MC action fantasy stories has gotten completely outta hand. ITS become so normalized (even when she only appear once people will be quick to stamp her with lots of insults)

Every little thing a female character does gets people calling her a bitch or annoying. I still remember how the MCs SISTER in Mercenary Enrollment got bashed like crazy. People were calling her an "incestious bitch" js bc she blushed while talking to her brother, when she was obviously just shy and anxious. I also remember saying I liked a female character from another manhwa, and some random weirdo ass who hates every female character reply to my comment they hoped id get gang-raped and killed just because I said I liked the female love interest (this female lead lit on every mc journey, she was there at early chaps to the end she always w mc) lots people still bash her like crazy anw, called her a bitch js bc she pursue mc?? Mind u She aint overlysexualize, shes straightfoward abt what she wanted and deffo not a whinny character, shes pretty dependable too.

Sure, u dont care whether the love interest is male or female, as long as the romance feels right, and its great of u! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ .. But for some people having a female as the mc love interest is disgusting and worse than anything lmao (eg dat yutas bf, bless them and their dislike lmfaooooo)

And tbh i DO agree w your point, as on 1st comment on my other sentence i only emphasize w "good female love interest" (im not including those harem oversexualizing shit, guess im not too spesific enough on my 1st comment as i dont wanna yapp too much ( ̄∇ ̄"))

my comments is directed at "some people" and my target is ppl who hates on anything related to FEMALE as love interest, no matter how good she appear is. My target deffo not you~~ (⌒▽⌒)

Idc if im being called too deep into ts or too sensitive and shi lol ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Imo, bromance and romance with the female love interest are two different things. They serve diff purposes in the story. If u find the bromance more emotionally compelling, dats totally valid. After all, bromance usually gets much more development in male MC action fantasy stories, while the romance with the female love interest is often treated js an added spice ( ̄∇ ̄") but its called bromancr for a reason and not bl genre, uuh its totally hard to explain what in my head. Hopes its conveys to u well

Yeah ik xd. They talked about bromance and how it's more accepted so I just gave my take on which could be the reason. That's why I talked about friendships and platonic relationships in general, not just bromance. Maybe I wasnt clear enough idk, english ain't my first language sorry

First off, it's an interesting topic so don't worry about the lenght! I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.
I think same gender interactions are just more appealing, most of the time. Probably because the dynamics aren't that flat and predictable. It's not just about man×man. If you know about "Your Throne" a lot of people ship the main character with one of the leads, who is also a girl.
The authors are obviously free to write whatever they want, but the readers will still have their opinion. They shouldn't be so harsh, but this is the internet so what are we expecting rip.
And as I said the main difference between a canon romantic relationship and platonic relationship is that the second one leaves the door open to imagination. You have to choice to ship, or just enjoy the bromance or the friendship. It doesn't interrupt the flow of the story or the peak of the action with romance – most of the time not well written, or not well placed in the mid of the plot, or with a character with whom there is no chemestry at all. Reason why i think from a psychological pov, people prefer the platonic relationships: they have the freedom to ship the mc with whoever they want. And tbh most of the times authors really just create the most beautiful dynamics between people of the same gender, which they cannot do with the real romantic interest in the end. It's really dissatisfying. If you want to add romance, it has to be build well. Even if the character is a new entry. If you not, people will end up compering that relationship with previous platonic ones and things will just not feel right. And even if it's objectively well-written people might still not be into it, because they had other expectations or wished fpr a free-romance read.
But I do agree most people end up overreacting, and misogyny really comes out. This is the society we live in and if fucking sucks. People can't even respect each other opinion online, which is ridiculous.

Xixixi no worries i make lots of mistakes too (▰˘◡˘▰) i see ur pointt deffo agree at some too! (esp on people will compare it to previous platonic relations mc will hv w other character cz i sometimes feel it too wheter its on mmc or fmc story :'D) and u trully write it well! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

ig my main reason i wrote my first comment is bc "some people" straight up loathing and hating straight romance in mmc fantasy action story by generalizing every bits of it will ruin the plot when they obv have yet reading the story but js hating the idea of female as love interest (some even hate it even when they js friends lmao) but will be okay if mc start romance w male chara (okay this sounds as if im hating bl but nooo T.T)

Then againn, im not spesific enough writing my first comment and even misswriting and misunderstood ppl but idc kskaksjkaja (=・ω・=) thanks 4 sharing ur opinion aimsarahx! We trully talk like civilized dawgs (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Bruh, how I wish it’s not The manhwa isn’t really classified as BL, but in the novel—tho I didn’t read it—as far as what I gathered, Yoojin and Hyunjae confessed and told each other “I like you” and even “I love you.” And what did you expect? They flirt 24/7

I have nothing against BL, but I just wished the author kept it as just bromance. My expectations were ruined nevertheless, the story was great.
