Semes and ukes are NOT queer men. They are heteronormative roles created by women for women to sexualize imposed onto the skeletal framing of queerness.
There is a reason why 99% of Yaoi has fixed seme/uke roles with not even the slightest bit of switching despite it being disproportionately out of step with actual queer men.
It's because they are not representing any general audience of queer men. Rather they are projections of heteronormative standards ONTO queer men so straight and bi women can sexualize them without taking into consideration the full depth of the male queer experience.

Putting heteronormative standards on queer men in fiction is literally THE problem with yaoi, and like I get it I’m here reading it as well and I’m enjoying the story n stuff, but as a reader at a certain point we should realize queer media (and I get it was written and originated by hetero women for hetero women, but guess what, it has gay men that’s queer media) shouldn’t be viewed heteronormatively.
