Hmmmm off the top of my head? Last story I re read similar to that was “Omega Complex”.
Outside of that tho, “at end of the road” is pretty good. However that only falls under “childhood friends”/unrequited love. MC doesn’t fall for ML until further into the story. It’s also a soul transfer story. ML loved MC but then MC died (At the beginning btw) and got his soul swapped with another persons. ML eventually realizes that during the story.
