Yah, it's not those kind of dads who just hate the ML being closed with their daughter but it's simply because he's worried for her and what comes after (like public perception, getting involved with political conflicts, etc)
Classic scumbag priests!! Also, love her dad. He's justified in his stance and if anything, quite kind and lenient for her having private meetings -alone- with a prince, especially one who could cause political issues and imbalance for the Duke and his family.
