I'm sure he wanted to but I'm guessing he was too suspicious of them and thought they may kill him or something.
Our man Rio would have still protected him even if it was a trap. The only thing that worries me is that if they awaken him does he have to do the tutorial again? I would make sure they awaken me and send me back home too. Otherwise, Squeaky is gonna go on a rampage...
Soul should have asked the administrators to awaken him. Like hello! Your world is about to get invaded. You just gonna rely on Squeaky/Rio to keep you protected? I need all of the protection I can get. Including being able to fight back...ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
