I mean, Yeomin is technically still eligible to get a scholarship, beside the fact that he's smart and can maintain his GPA. There's toooons of different types of scholarship right and each scholarship could have different equipments.
Like in my country for examples, there's scholarship for disadvantaged students, or orphaned or athletes students, scholarship for postgraduate students (usually this type of scholarship targeted towards those from middle to upper class one and this scholarship usually aims to encourage them to return to their own country and work here, because the scholarship comes from tax money)
Scholarship like, "Need-Based Financial Aid", "Merit Scholarships", or scholarship that you got through "connection-based", like for example, let's say one of your family working at a specific company and in that company, they got a scholarship program as a "benefit" for all the employees so their kids or their younger brothers/sisters can register their family member to take part in the scholarship, especially if you got connection or recommendation directly, and you're eligible, then i don't see the problem honestly??
Speaking of my case, i got a distant relative, his father work at a Japanese company-based for like 15 years or so (he doesn't work in Japan but in another branch outside that country) and one of his kid got full scholarship from that company to study at one prestigious university in Japan (this university also got some alumni that work at that main branch company in JP so there's that)
Also as far as i know, in South Korea there's many type of scholarship too, technically if Yeomin is eligible to the criteria and qualifications of ML's company (since they're the one that funded it) he could easily got recommendations, let's say now Yeomin know that the secretary is also the one who got him a recommendation... it's only natural for someone in charge to give "sponsor" at one smart kid, especially in many case, i often see company would give full scholarship to a smart student under the agreement that when they graduate, they would work for that company or the company could RECRUIT them immediately.
I know all those colleges students just want to stir up some dramas, so what if Yeomin could wear a nice branded things, i mean he's NOT the one who bought all those stuffs duh i mean he's smart, can maintain his STABLE GPA DESPITE THE FACT HE WORK LIKE A DOG DAAAAY AND NIGHT!!! (u know the reference), and he come from a broken home, poor family, he DESERVES that scholarship more than anyone i know some of that students feel wronged because "why someone that wear branded things got scholarship?" No. Then what's the problem? I always found it funny cause you can see a over consumerism country when u see one, even in a BL manhwa. The society man... they always talk big abt wearing designers things and bully orphans who can't afford one and all those "status" thing (no like fr tho if u have no parents, ur not from SKY uni or sum, then you're basically "nothing" in their eyes) but when someone FINALLY knew damn well how to use their connection, suddenly everyone act like the purest saint and want to do an exorcism to you (that's why u often read in a BL manhwa, when some new recruits that got recommendations come in, but they're not from influential rich family, all those 꼰대 would bully the shit out of that new recruits)
I still remember one influencer literally got crucified cause she wear like one or two fake designer clothes or bag (?) on a dating show, bruh... They act like she killed the president or sum notice how the students in this manhwa always pointed at Yeomin suddenly wearing "designer brands", getting "sponsor", meeting with "older man" or sum, they CAN'T stay away from other people's businesses, u combined a bunch of highschool bullies, capitalist and over consumerism people?
