You are aware that white people can develop a tan when they are often exposed to the sun? Dane is such a case.

And that some people use bronzer, because a tan can look more healthy and attractive than pale white skin? So she is either tanned by the sun, or went to a tanning salon, or used a bronzer.

Look at what they did to Chase for that role, they dyed his hair, and in the novel he also got different eycolor and eyepatch. And Naomi got a tan.

Normaly manga/manhwa artists make it more obvious if someone has a different race, then it's not just the skin color.

For example all the other characters across the manga have been consistent in design (yes this includes colour) even with the different artists, their ‘shade’ might change a bit but they stay consistent. You can call Dane tan in DMIYC, but ‘Naomi’ isn’t. She is a whole brown woman in DMIYC. Please stop this nonsense about tanning. You cannot call every character tan because your brain doesn’t want to accept brown or black characters. & no this is not me fighting for a black character, they can keep her white.. my ocd just wants a consistent design.

First I have nothing against brown or black characters, they can look absolutely stunning. Their skin color looks certainly healthier than of those pale whites. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have more chracters with different skin colors, but as a non black author from a different country, you have to be careful because of racism, so a lot of author depending on the genre avoid that. I think in omegaverse could be really problematic.
Why I mentioned Dane, it's because there were people attacking the artist of KMIYC because "they thought they turned him white".

You mean in KMIYC she looked "brown"? It certainly looked like a really dark tan. You could have been right, if Naomi's first appearence would have been in KMIYC. But Naomi first appeared in Kiss me liar, and in Kiss me liar she was white too.
So in that case it's really an inconsistency or they made her like this for the movie role, but can't remember if that was mentioned in the novel.
