bro DID is a protective mechanism that's comes from a trauma not amnesia people who has amnesia would also be curious about their future self and can be jealous. Amber forgot his future self mentally, not a new identity. So if he regain his identity, his memory would merge or snap back to his future self. It happens to ppl who suffer from amnesia, it's psychologically proven that it doesn't trigger DID
