Assuming he can read minds (which he most likely can), there's nothing he doesn't already know about his wife. Since he went to the neurosurgery ward, perhaps he's there for a medical checkup (due to whatever brain surgery he's had to grant him those abilities), so this encounter between the protagonists and the antagonist is surely a coincidence. The following chapters promise to be incredibly interesting yay!
