This! So many comments on how they started with rape but they literally made a deal to have sex, Nanjo bought the room and showed up to have sex, then they have sex. It wasn't softly making love but it was consensual which is why he showed up there in the first place. Manipulative? Yes. Blackmail? ...Kinda, kinda not. Wrong? Probably, although Nanjo had his own manipulation he was doing so they were kinda meeting on a level playing field there. But rape? No, it wasn't. Everyone has the right to withdraw consent at any time in a sexual encounter, this is true, but if I counted every time a uke or woman said "wait, no, stop, it's too deep, it feels weird, stop, no wait!!" in a manhwa as rape it would be in literally every story because for whatever reason they always say that during sex. This wasn't blackmail though, this was a transaction. They both willingly gave something up to gain something they wanted. If he had said "have sex with me or I will out you", that would be blackmail. Nanjo wanted something (Mok-yeon to stop having sex with Sunhwa) and he said what will it take for you to give me what I want? Mok layed out his terms, which he didn't actually expect Nanjo to agree with, and Nanjo accepted because he decided the price was worth the reward. Had he said no and walked away, no harm would have come to him or his reputation (which is the definition of blackmail: harm to you or your reputation if you don't agree to the blackmailer's demands), but Mok-yeon and Sunhwa would continue sleeping together which he didn't like. He says he was protecting Sunhwa from abuse, but he was also fully aware that Sunhwa had been willingly sleeping with Mok-yeon before they ever met and that the threesome was Sunhwa's idea and Sunhwa set it up, which he wouldn't have done if he was being abused. Nanjo isn't stupid, he knew there was no abuse, he just personally didn't like it and wanted them to stop. He showed up on his own and rented rooms because he was willing to use his body as payment to buy what he wanted and he could have stopped the meetings at any time if it became no longer worth it to him and walked away unharmed. It was a shitty thing for Mok to do to take advantage of using someone's body in a business deal, but it was not blackmail or rape, just a shady business transaction.

In nearly every manhwa or Manga I've ever read, yaoi or straight, the "bottom" will say that shit during sex "wait, stop, it feels weird, wait, it's too deep, no, stop". I don't know why they say it, I think it's weird and wish they wouldn't because it does make it suddenly feel like dubious consent, but that's what they almost always say for whatever reason in situations that are clearly consensual (google says it's a cultural thing because it makes them seem more innocent or pure if they pretend not to enjoy sex but idfk). If you are pretending to not know what I'm talking about you've either never read these types of stories or you're just arguing for the sake of argument. I never said rape is ok because it's common, I said they commonly say that stuff when it is NOT an indicator of them being raped. i can like stories and still recognize it has rape. and i honestly don't care to argue about whether or not every other story is rape or not. my point was that you said that Nanjo wasn't raped because every yaoi has some dubious scene. I don't think that reason makes sense when Nanjo is shown being visibly scared, crying and saying that it hurts. it would be extremely weird if the author genuinenly intended those scenes as consensual and i honestly don't think that is their intention anyway since Mokyeon isin't some green flag seme where rape would be out of character for him.
