I don't find him ugly at all, I adore the freckles aans the soft round face. His eyes are also so unique and remind me of fluttershy. Beauty standards are always different, they change w time or per region. Society is really cruel.
The one page w the girls talking on the train and MC thought they are talking about him, hits real hard. We are always so hyper aware and think others talk bad about us, even tho the ones talking don't even notice their surroundings. Most of the insecurities and worries are also just anxiety and ofc self doubt that we put on ourselves.
